Simple Easy Halloween Decor Out of Paper
It was the 22nd of October, we just got back from our two-week vacation. We decided to throw an impromptu Halloween party a few days after and I found myself in the situation where the house was not even a tiny bit decorated for the occasion. I had a chance to stop buy at a Dollar store that day and after spending $10. I was very optimistic that something cool will come out of it! DIY Halloween decor saved the day. They are all easy, quick, and cheap and you can probably make it from things you already have. As a super nice person, I'm going to share with you what crafts I did and how long it took me. They are so easy to make that with some help you can finish it in a couple of hours and be ready to celebrate the spooky holiday in style!
DIY Halloween crafts from recycled materials
Paper bats
The oldie but a goodie. All you need is black paper + scissors. Fold your paper in half, cut a pattern, and cut as many bats as you can! Put them on the wall with double tape.
Ghosts from napkins
It couldn't be easier. Cut your napkin in half. Make a ball for the head out of one. Use a thread to fix the head. Paint a face. Put them separately on a stick or together as a garland.
Ghosts from trash bags on your lawn
I just love the creepy dance they are making. For the head simply use the ball made out of paper towels, no need to spend $3 on a foam ball.
Spiders from fluffy pipe cleaners
Fold a pipe cleaner into 3 parts, cut them. Put together and make a knot in the middle. Spread the legs like a spider. If you'd like to see how I painted pumpkins and what lessons I've learned from it, you can find it here .
Creepy pumpkins with spiders
All you need are a pumpkin and a bunch of spiders. You can use spiders that you made out of pipe cleaners.
Floating candles from paper towel tubes
Put some hot glue on the paper towel tube, making a "melted wax" effect. Cut a circle, glue it on the top and add a LED candle. Attach with the thread and clear hooks to the ceiling. I think it definitely looks more impressive in real life ;D
Bleeding candles
Get a pack of white candles and red candles from Dollar Store. Simply drip red over white and BOO!
Spooky jars
I didn't have milk jars but had clear ones from water instead. It still works perfectly fine! Just draw spooky faces, put them in a line, cut the holes on the sides and connect with a string of a Christmas light. Boo!
Trash bag spider web
I tried to make it and failed miserably. But Lilly has such a wonderful tutorial on how to make this spider web. I'll try again next year.
Bodybag
Fill your trash bags with garbage and form the shape of the body. Use a water jar for the head. Throw it in the bushes next to your entryway. Don't forget to remove it after Halloween 😀
Bottles with creepy labels
I downloaded my labels from here. I used bottles from Kombucha, but you can also make them for wine bottles.
Mice silhouette
They are super easy to cut out with this PDF Template f rom Martha Stewart. Place them on the stairs along with Dollar store rat toys. Can you spot the toys? 😉
